The width of your driveway will vary based on whether you want a single car driveway or double car driveway. In addition, the width may change to accommodate parking or a turnaround. Double car driveways can be between 20 and 24 feet wide. A driveway that is 20 feet wide  provides enough space for two cars to pass, but not quite enough room for parking side-by-side and opening doors.
