Glass Rail: Form and Function

There are plenty of situations in which some kind of railing is required for safety purposes. Balconies, elevated walkways, and many staircases indoors and outdoors require railings to keep those walking in the area safe. In many cases, property owners are concerned about how a railing will change the aesthetic of the design feature. For example, you may concerned about how a railing with change the view from a balcony with a great view. Especially if people sit on the balcony, they may find their view obstructed by railings.

This is where glass railings come in. Glass railings are just as safe as railings made from other materials such as aluminum. In fact, because they have no open spaces, they even eliminate the possibility of someone getting a hand, foot, or leg stuck in them. Glass railings are also completely transparent, so they don’t obstruct the view whatsoever. This makes glass railings great for lots of situations, from balconies overlooking the beach, to raised walkways through a beautiful garden. Glass railings provide both the form and function needed for safety reasons without adding a significant change to the aesthetic of whatever location in which you’re using them.
