What’s the Best Fence for a Basketball Court?

Basketball courts can be designed with or without a fence, but unless you want to stop the game to retrieve errant shots, it’s a good idea to have a fence around the court. So what kind of fence makes for the best basketball court fence? Read on to find out.

Basketball Court Fence: Chain Link Fence

Chain link fence is used in tons of different applications because it’s quite simply one of the most versatile types of fencing available. In this case, chain link fence works great for basketball courts for several reasons. For one, the links are small enough to prevent the ball from going through. Chain link fences are also easily built to heights that will prevent the ball from passing over the fence and into the yard. In addition, chain link fences have a little give compared to a wood or iron fence, so if you happen to run into the fence during an especially vigorous game of pick up, the chain link fence will soften the blow. Chain link fences work great for basketball courts, and the best part is that if you don’t have a fence around your court currently, it’s easy to have one installed.
