Why is it Important to Have a Deck Fence?

Decks are a great place to entertain company, eat, sunbathe, or spend time with your family. If your deck isn’t ground level, it’s important to have a fence surrounding the deck.

Safety

Safety is always a priority that fences take care of. Even with decks that aren’t very high off the ground it’s important to have a fence. Though it might not be a far fall, it might be enough to injure someone, and all it takes is one false step. If you have pets, fences will keep them safe as well. If your dog chases after every squirrel that catches his eye, a fence will keep him from falling off the deck.

Aesthetic

In addition to safety, decks just look nicer with a fence. You can customize a deck fence to suit your tastes. Many decks are made out of wood, so a wood fence goes nicely with a wood deck. However, the deck fence doesn’t necessarily have to be wood. Glass panel railings provide just as much safety as a wood fence and give you a nice view as well.
